This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 Well， this was a roller coaster。 In all honestly， there shouldn’t have been enough to keep me reading。 Sure， I hate leaving things unfinished， but this series was messy。 I have way too much free time and I would never have paid money for this book but when I saw the whole series at my school library I went， eh why not。I want to get the things I liked out of the way first:- I did love Rose and Lissa’s friendship。 While the bond was kind of a cliche thing， I really enjoyed how the author used it t Well， this was a roller coaster。 In all honestly， there shouldn’t have been enough to keep me reading。 Sure， I hate leaving things unfinished， but this series was messy。 I have way too much free time and I would never have paid money for this book but when I saw the whole series at my school library I went， eh why not。I want to get the things I liked out of the way first:- I did love Rose and Lissa’s friendship。 While the bond was kind of a cliche thing， I really enjoyed how the author used it to let you in on the interesting parts of the book， especially when Rose is off doing stupid boring stuff and I need a breath of fresh air。- the superior couple in the series: Lissa and Christian。 This is a perfect example of opposites attract。 I mean， come on。 You can’t not love them。- Rose and Adrian （while they lasted） and can I just say， Rose x Adrian >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Rose x Dimitri any day of the week- that once you set aside the stupid rules and ways of this fantasy world and the creatures in it， the author did a great job of having enough different interesting plots while still having the same goal throughout the series。 Some series’ just give you the feeling they could be resolved in a single book。 And I kept reading。I’m not going to go into all the things I hated about this series because we would be here for ages， so I will cope with just putting one:TEACHER X STUDENT RELATIONSHIPS ARE NOT OKAY OR HEALTHY！！！！！ THERE IS A HUGE POWER IMBALANCE AND THIS RELATIONSHIP IS NOT AN EXCEPTION BECAUSE ITS “TRUE LOVE”。While I know it isn’t targeted towards younger audiences/children， they will still get their hands on it and think that it is okay to date a teacher or an adult when you’re underage if it’s “love”。 One thing that kept me reading was the sliver of a hope that there would be a scene when Rose had the realisation， or an invention， about this toxic relationship and she would get out the relationship。 I don’t even mind if they stayed friends as long as they weren’t romantically involved。 If your teacher can’t control his emotions and feelings towards a student， that’s his problem and he needs to be fired， in all honesty。ITS ILLEGAL FOR A REASON。 If only Dimitri was either within maybe two years of her age and not her teacher， or more than two years of her age and not her teacher and also started making advances AFTER she was 18， id be fine with it。 When I could forget he was her teacher， I loved his character and there relationship。BUT HES HER TEACHER。（P。S This is my first goodreads review， I don’t think anyone will ever read this either， but I’m realising that this is a good place to let my rants about books out。 Good to know） 。。。more

Buddy read with Nashita。I started reading this series ironically but ended up being completely invested。 I love vampire books because I love vampires in general but this is the first time that I loved the protagonist as well。 The series is has an amazing mix of action， adventure， romance， petty high school drama， royal drama， vampires， fugitives， etc。 Rose Hathaway: One of the best heroines ever！ She’s strong， opinionated， stubborn， sassy， reckless， loyal and extremely brave Dhampir。 She does Buddy read with Nashita。I started reading this series ironically but ended up being completely invested。 I love vampire books because I love vampires in general but this is the first time that I loved the protagonist as well。 The series is has an amazing mix of action， adventure， romance， petty high school drama， royal drama， vampires， fugitives， etc。 Rose Hathaway: One of the best heroines ever！ She’s strong， opinionated， stubborn， sassy， reckless， loyal and extremely brave Dhampir。 She does make some decisions that I didn’t agree with， but hey， so does everyone。 Rose is definitely one of those people you really want to be。 Lissa Dragomir: AKA Princess Vasilisa Dragomir is a moroi and is Rose’s best friend。 I like Lissa， but putting her alongside Rose makes her not that impressive。 In fact in the first few books she was insanely immature but i do have to say that she had amazing character development。 She totally grew on me and I ended up loving her in the last books。 Dimitri Belikov: Also a Dhampir and is Rose’s training instructor。 I liked him from the start and oh boy did he make me feel so many things during this series。 Christian Ozera: A royal moroi with a tragic backstory。 I was extremely skeptical of Christian at first but he really turned out to be such an amazing and caring character。Adrian Ivashkov: Also a royal Moroi。 He doesn’t show up until the second book but he is the main reason that book got a 5 star rating and every scene he shows up in from book 2 until the last one is perfect！ （view spoiler）[ He doesn’t get a happy ending in this one which is why I’m anxious to read Bloodlines because he deserves the world。 （hide spoiler）]There are other characters， but so many and some of them give major spoilers by just existing， so those are just the main characters and also my top 5 in this series。If you’re familiar with Romanian vampire folklore， you’ll know that there are different types of vampires: Moroi: vampires that are able to wield magic。 Each moroi is able to specialize in one type of elemental magic: water， fire， air， earth an s a surprise new element。 Dhampir: these are vampire-human hybrids， they are stronger than the Moroi and thus， most are guardians to the Moroi。 （this is actually Balkan folklore， not Romanian）。 Strigoi: troubled spirits that are said to have risen from the grave and love feasting on Moroi blood。 Thanks to the book descriptions and also the movie， I just imagine them as zombies （but they are not）。Romance: I generally loved most of the romance， most of it was very dramatic but so understandable and entertaining。（view spoiler）[ Rose and Dimitri are such an amazing couple and I love them so much。 But…they are 7 years apart， in fact Rose is still a minor when they start developing feelings。 I know that this is a problem and I do wish Dimitri were at least 3 or 4 years younger but whatever。 I still love him and i love them being together。 （hide spoiler）]Individual book ratings: Vampire Academy: ★★★★☆Frostbite: ★★★★★Shadow Kiss: ★★★★★ Blood Promise: ★★★★☆ Spirit Bound:★★★★☆ Last Sacrifice: ★★★★★Overall Series Rating: ★★★★。5 rounded up to 5 because this goes into my top 10 favorite series all time and is my favorite vampire book series。 。。。more

A good premise of a fantasy world but an unnecessarily long series with an unsatisfying rushed end that leaves too many plot holes and unfinished story arcs。 Too many of the fine details are glossed over and the heroine never really grows up。 All in all an entertaining read with a different take on vampires than the norm。 I strongly dislike series that try and sum everything up in the last few chapters of the last book。

If I could rate this series higher than allowed I would。 I was Recommend this series by a friend of my aunts and I cannot thank her enough for it。 It is by far one of the best series I’ve ever read filled with romance and adventure and mystery。 I recommend this series for anybody that loves the world of vampires and romance and discovering who you are。The minute I picked up these books I couldn’t put them down。 I read them all in a bit over a week and I can’t wait to reread them

I’m 51 years old。 I never thought I would read a YA book， let alone the whole series and ever book I can get my hands on that Richelle Mead has written or ever will write。 I will always follow this author。 My 13 year old niece got me into reading these sets of books。 Something her and I could talk about， connect over， get to know what books she loves and just being able to spend time with her。 So I thought ok， it can’t be that bad， thinking I’m way to old for YA books。 And I never did the whole I’m 51 years old。 I never thought I would read a YA book， let alone the whole series and ever book I can get my hands on that Richelle Mead has written or ever will write。 I will always follow this author。 My 13 year old niece got me into reading these sets of books。 Something her and I could talk about， connect over， get to know what books she loves and just being able to spend time with her。 So I thought ok， it can’t be that bad， thinking I’m way to old for YA books。 And I never did the whole Twilight thing or anything close to that。 My Vampire books were Anne Rice books， that is the first time I truly feel in love with an author， a made up world， and Vampire characters that became part of MY world。 And now it’s happened again！！ These characters are part of ME and MY world now and MY family。 I’ve cried， I’ve laughed out loud， my heart has been broken， fixed and left wanting more。 There are so many great reviews out there about these books。 But I thought just being able to share how great it’s been to be able to really get to know my niece and to connect with her in a way we hadn’t before。 I think this is a good review for all the books and this very talented writer who can bring generations of Aunts and Nieces together。 。。。more
